About Assurity |
|
Assurity Financial Services, LLC was co-founded in 2002 by its CEO, Calvin Hamler
, whose formal education in finance and an extensive Wall Street background prior to entering the
mortgage banking industry have positioned the company as second to none in the area of capital
markets expertise. Among other industry recognized qualifications, Mr. Hamler completed the
Mortgage Bankers Association's School of Mortgage Banking, earning the AMP (Accredited Mortgage
Professional) designation, and in 2008 Mr. Hamler served on the Board of Directors for the Colorado
Mortgage Lenders Association. The company has achieved FHA Full Eagle Direct Endorsement Lender
status, VA Automatic Lender status, and is also a Fannie Mae approved direct seller, utilizing the
most sophisticated forms of secondary market delivery through relationships with its Wall Street
securities dealers and investor partners.
In 2009, the company's COO, Vanessa Giacoman
, invested to become Mr. Hamler's business partner. Prior to joining Assurity, Ms. Giacoman served as the President of
CityMutual Financial, a de novo mortgage banking firm, leading the company through its largest expansion and growth at
the end of 2003 by growing its work force to 300 employees through a diverse originations platform consisting of a
Hispanic call center, retail sales division and wholesale sales channel. As a young leader, Ms. Giacoman was responsible
for formulating and implementing the corporate strategy approved by the Board of Directors. Ms. Giacoman is a graduate
from the Harvard School of Business, the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University, the
University of California at Berkeley, and holds the CMB (Certified Mortgage Banker) designation from the Mortgage
Bankers Association.
Due to its private ownership and athletic size as a mid-level mortgage banker, a conservative approach to credit risk
management, exemplary corporate governance and dedication to borrower loan product suitability, Assurity remains well
